Question about my IWILL KK266

I have not updated the bios since i bought my board about a month ago.It is rev 1.2 and i am running the Duron 750.I havn't had a problem until last night when i enabled DMA on both my HD and my CD rom.at first it was aewsome,i noticed a great increase in performance.Then i put a cd in and after a couple of minutes of use i got a blue screen.The oly way i could get out of it was to reboot.When i did it would only recognize my cd rom,not my HD,i tried many thing's in Bios to no avail.Finaly i had to manually disconnect my cdrom then i could boot to window's again.
Here is my long winded question.I am looking on IWILL's web sight and notice there is a new bios released April 16.

1.Correct CPUID=0643H ratio table.
2.Fixed data corruption with 686B.
3.Correct Thunderbird ratio table.

I am wondering what number 1 and 2 will do for me.Does it address any DMA issue?
Also how do i tell what 4 in 1 driver's i'm using?

Well, the BIOIS update doesn't directly affect your issue with DMA, and I have heard of a few people having problems with the new BIOS, so I would probably leave it if your comp is stable. Unless you've downloaded an updated 4in1 driver, it'll be whatever came with you mobo, just look on the disk, it'll tell you. I would just download the 4.29 4in1's and be done with it. Also, what OS are you using?

I was having random lockups which seemed to be related to either CD-ROM or hardrive access (so i'm guessing it could be DMA related) and these problems were solved by upgrading to the march 7th bios, and since then my computer has been rock stable. So you might wanna give them a try and see if they help.

Well spank my ass and call me Sally....I was waiting for that new BIOS. There are supposed to be major problems with the 686B southbridge and data corruption between the primary and secondary IDE controllers and this must be the BIOS update to fix that!!! I'm psyched. Can't wait to try it out.
