Question about new DVD Burner purchase

Hi guys, so I just purchased a Samsung DVD burner from Newegg, and it uses a SATA Power cable, and a SATA data cable.

I know about the data cable, but have never seen the power cable before. Looking for it at monoprice, I found 3, but I don't know which one to buy.

Are all 3 SATA power cable the same? With the 3rd one just having 2 power cords instead of one?

Do I plug the molex end into the mobo?

it should be coming out of your power supply

if your power supply doesn't have any sata connectors, perhaps it's time for a new power supply?

no, there should be a cable coming out of your power supply that has a molex end

The only other difference I see is that the first link you gave has the newer connector design that includes a retention clip to help reduce the stress.

No, I do not think my power supply has a SATA power connector. I bought it 2 years ago. Doubt SATA was as big then as now.

any half-decent power supply from 2 years ago should have at least 1 SATA connector

In case you didn't look, that is exactly what the OP links. I think maybe OP is just confused how to use them. As tynopoik mentioned:

no, there should be a cable coming out of your power supply that has a molex end

Once you buy a cable like the ones you linked, you will be able to plug a molex connector coming from your PSU into the connector and the other end of the connector into the drive.

Just to clarify, the short answer is yes.
Your first link connects a single molex feed from your PSU to a single SATA drive using a newer style retention clip. The second link is the same as the first except using an older style retention clip. The third is the same as the second except that it allows connection of one molex to up to two SATA drives. They will all work for you.

The purpose of the newer style retention clip is to reduce stress on the connection so you are less likely to break it when trying to install/remove the connector. That's worth the extra $0.80 in my book.
