Question about power supply

I bought a core 2 duo E6420 and I'm likely getting the BFG NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS OC 320MB PCIe video card this Friday.

Just wondering about power supply.

I already ordered the PSU which is a Coolermaster eXtreme Power 600W SLI/CF Power Supply.

I checked the BFG website and it says that I need the following PSU for minimum system requirements:

A 425W PCI Express-compliant system power supply with a combined 12V current rating of 28A or more

I am just concerned about the 12v current rating of 28A or more.

I don't know much about power such as amps and stuff like that and wondering if someone could help me out.

The Coolermaster website shows 2 different 600 W models for my PSU but I'm not sure which one I ordered. All I know is it seemed like a good deal. I want to know if either of these power supplies with work with the BFG video card. Here are the specs from the Coolermaster website:

spec 1:

Any help is really appreciated. All I really want to know if either of these power supply's will handle the PC configuration I listed above. Thanks much in advance.

It'll work fine. Not the best of brands, but it should be ok.

Enermax Liberty 500w or the Corsair 520W.

Even the Enermax Liberty 400w can run the GTS card just fine.

Why are they better? Just curious.

They just use better components, more durable, more stable, and usually more efficient.
other good brands are Seasonic, Fortron FSP, Silverstone, sparkle.

Coolermaster is not bad, but I dont know anything about that specific PSU

You have to look at where the amperage is at. On enermax ps's they have strong 12v rails so that even a lower wattage ps can run high end stuff. Not all ps's are created equal which is why every machine in the house runs on an enermax ps.

Exactly. Better quality, better performance, more amps on the 12v rail instead of just a huge wattage to attract punters, and they usually have good warranties.

I'd recommend Enermax, Corsair, OCZ and Seasonic.

I gave up on dual rails BS and got the PCP&C 750 quad silencer. One fat 60amp 12v rail.

I got this 3 months ago.

Note the strong 12V rails. 20A and this is only a 400W PSU. Also it is very efficient. 80%+

Enermax makes good stuff.

PCP&C is undoubtedly the king of power supplies. It's just that it comes with a price tag to match.

Being very pleased with my current silverstone unit, I will of course have to be somewhat fanboyish and offer an alternative of my own:

Price isn't too bad, and you'll get 2x18A on the 12V rails
