Question about public hair.

How on earth does public hair know it has to stop growing? hair is supposed to be death tissue, which has no way to feel when it is long enough. Hair on legs, armpits and other regions, just about stops growing when it reaches a certain lenght, and if you cut it, it immediately starts growing back. What is triggering this?

And why isn't there such a trigger on hair on the head, mustache, beard, and hair on top just keeps on growing and growing. why doesn't it stop too at a certain lenght?

can someone shed some light on this problem?

hair reaches a certain length because the cells in the follicle stop producing the enzymes needed for the hair to continue growing when it reaches a certain length or something like that.

And the hair on your head is the same way--not everybody can grow hair down to their ankles, my hair stops growing when it hits my lower back/waistline, it never grows any longer than that. It's extremely thick and healthy, that's just it's natural growth cycle.

Blame my poor english books in high school. For some reason, pubic hair was never in the vocabulary listings.

Reminds me of the Critic, they were cleaning the city up and while hosing off the "Public Library" the "L" in Public fell off. Everyone on the street went running in when they noticed it said Pubic, when they got in everyone went "aww" in disappointment
