Im thinking about ebaying my tires and rims but have some questions.

How do i go about shipping 4 tires and rims ?
and
Where would the best place be to ship something like that?

im used to sending small items, and never shipped anything over 10 pounds.

Free advice: the purchaser will probably be upset if you just stick a mailing label right on the rim and hand it to the postman.

look at what other sellers are doing on there and ask youself if its really worth your time...4 tires are going to cost a buttload to ship and i would think unless your making a real gain from the sale its hardly going to be worth it.

UPS. Tie cardboard over the face of the rim and you're good to go. I've shipped off several sets of wheel/tire like this.

I buy tires online, and DHL ships them for about 12 bucks a pair (14" tires, going from Ft. Lauderdale FL to Gainesville area)..

You may want to compare prices from Fedex Ground and DHL..

When I ordered my wheels from Rspeed.net (Shameless plug, but they're a GREAT company, highly recommended) for my Miata, they packed each wheel/tire combo into their own single box, then shipped out the 4 boxes as one package. I do not recall them being tied together or anything, but they were on the same shipping order. They shipped via Fedex arrived flawlessly in great condition. This will protect the rims/tires against any scuffs.

You can see the boxes in the background on this picture.

I've ordered wheels online, but never shipped personally. I can't see them being all *that* bad to ship as long as you package them individually. I wouldn't want to even think about the shipping cost/size of box if you were to try to do all 4 together.

You might want to try and see if you can score some boxes from a place that sells tires that would just be throwing them out (sears? a local autoshop?).

Package them up yourself, hop on the major shipping sites and do some estimates (varies depending on size of box/weight) and go from there.

Good luck!

All four seperately.

But all you really need to do is cover the face of the wheel on each one. I've never had any damage reported, and UPS is used to having them shipped like this.

Never tried a whole tire/rim combo from them. But for tires alone, they bundle them up into 2s, then tie them together.

For wheel/tire combos, they probally do what I posted above (4 boxes).
