I have not built a computer for probably 3 years. I have been following the Johnny Cash plan and trying to acquire the parts for a build "One Piece at a Time." I have slowly acquired an Intel 2500K chip with a 1 TB WD Drive. Frankly I was not even thinking about SSD until after I received the GIGABYTE GA-Z68XP-UD3 motherboard I decided on last week and read a little about the use of an SSD drive with the Intel Smart Response Technology. That said, I am way out of the loop and am confused by the integration of an SSD drive into this. For a basic user trying to build a new system with the Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 and an intel 2500K chip, do I need to get simply a 60 gig drive and use smart response or would it be better to buy a 120 gig and run OS and main programs off it with data stored on 1 TB drive (and can you do that)? Any thoughts on what I might want to do. Newegg has some 120 gig OCZ drives on sale right now - but is there any good/practical reason to pay the extra $25 for the vertex ($145 AR) vs the agility 3 ($115 AR). I play a few games like fallout series, battlefield, call of duty, crysis, etc... Maybe I would be better off for now spending the money on new video card (using an old 5770 card now.
