question about voodoo drivers

I have been looking for drivers for a voodoo 3 and a 4. When looking I found many different drivers. Can someone explain this? What files do I actually need? There are drivers, tools and filters enough to make your head spin.

What I want to do is the voodoo 3 has a tv out and I want to put it into a win 2000 box. The voodoo 4 I want to put into an xp box. Does anyone use a voodoo 4 on xp and run all the games? I am trading my v4 to my nephew for his v3 with the tv out. Would I be better off to put 98 on the box with the v4?

Any advice you can offer is appreciated.

I had a Voodoo5 running in XP, no problems here. Get the latest beta drivers. I believe voodoofiles(the aformentioned link) has them.

I found that site last night on a google search. There just seems to be a lot of files to go through. I will check it out again tonight more thouroughly.

Deeko, any comments on gaming? My nephew wants to play warcraft 3 which will be on the v4 system.

Hey, I have had voodoo3 and best driver in Xp is underground Alpha6 driver in voodoofiles, it has best and newest D3d files,, and it has newer d3d library then 1.09beta4 underground, install Alpha, it has really cool clean correct picture in Warcraft3 and I played this game on it, it is very sweet driver for W3,, and Beta4 got incorrect image in game, so Alpha6 also recomendation of voodoomaniacs on many forums for d3d playing under XP heavily,,, ;-))) Have a fun

Thanks MK but the V3 is in a 2000 box. The V4 is going to be on xp.

Games work well. I never had a game that didn't work. The latest betas have the option to turn on HSR, like the latest 3dfx drivers did, but it doesn't appear to do anything.

V3 o V4, I don`t think that in this game it will do different image with the same driver of course in 16bit ;-), and I think I saw Amigamerlin 2.5 drivers for v3,4,5, in which is directx 8.0 or 8.1 compliant d3d driver, which is pretty good modified from well known man in 3dfx community Koolsmoky, certainly it have to be good driver ;-), install this,, and also there is another last one from other person, try those two, but I think this Amigamerlin should be better ;-)

I tried a few drivers but I couldnt get Quake3 Arena to work. I have a Voodoo3 2000 and Win Xp. It says CAnnot open OpenGL Subsystem. any ideas?
