question before joining

I'm thinking of joining TA, can someone please quickly explain the
structure of all this miniteam/hurd/etc stuff?

Here is the hierarchy

Team Anandtech: 1st and most important

Miniteam: TACube, the Federation, Team within Team Anandtech, and others. These were initially formed as an additional form of friendly competition. Some are now large, some are small. You can join one of these if you would like. I am on TA Cube(the Borg, the Collective, and many other names that we have been called). These are more important to some people than others, but never as important as Team Anandtech.

Individual: That would be you, whether you join a miniteam or not. You are also important, without you, and me, and others, Team Anandtech suffers.

The Herd: This refers to the computers you have cracking for you. Some one or two computers, some very large, in the hundreds. My herd is linked in my sig, as many others are also.

thanks.. that cleared things up..i understood the herd part before but the miniteans were throwing me..

i've got a herd of 7 cracking 24/7 right now and a few others (like my laptop are on and off)

ya when I first started out I couldn't even get the stupid thing to run. Russ and everyone here (even Adul ) were really great.

I only crack 300 blocks a day (that will increase consdiering my new comp should arrive shortly) but in the long run it adds up. And on top of all that, its fun

been cracking for almost a year now so the client setup is no problem.. was just wondering how all the different group worked.. think i'll be coming on board shortly
