I decided to buy MSI 2080 ti Gaming X Trio, with its higher power limit. I almost went for the MSI Lightning Z, but I've read it can noisy because of high power consumption (350w at stock). But I can strongly recommend Gaming X Trio. Overclocked it sits consistently at 1995mhz (3440x1440) at full load at 75-77C, with 120mhz core overclock. Coil whine is minimal, like Ventus.
Of the four 2080 ti cards I've tested, Gaming X Trio is by far the most silent one. I didn't even have to make a custom fan curve in MSI Afterburner, as the card has a very soft and unobtrusive sound profile, also when overclocked. I know EVGA comes highly recommended, but the brand is very expensive here in Europe. Bottom line, I can strongly recommend this card.
