Isn't there anything you find really interesting, OP? Everyone has an urge to learn something - it's just that some people don't find it. I really love learning languages, and I'm decent at it. So I'm thinking of being some sort of translator/interpreter when I'm older. Just take things one step at a time: you don't have to decide on a career with certainty, just gravitate towards what you like to do.

And stop acting like a whiny little bitch. You need to focus your mind on something - I always find I'm much happier and more sure of myself when I have something to think about.

Engineer here, ~40hrs per week. And it doesn't seem too much like "work" either, amazingly enough. Today, we got out of work a bit early as a bit of a gift from the company president - I was slightly disappointed, as I was busy working on a special project.


The alternatives: Watch Dirty Jobs for awhile. Some of those jobs are unskilled labor, others are skilled. Some pay poorly, some pay well, some require you to work at a breakneck speed, some have you do assembly-line work.

I don't want my kids to ever be deprived of anything that they need. I want to be a proper role model and not leave it to an athlete. No one else has volunteered to pay for my wife's SUV, lattes, cell phone, or car insurance. I want to hit my mid-life crisis in style.

My job is a lot easier and shit-ton more fun than going to school. I actually enjoy talking to people and trying to resolve problems, and if the orther party starts freaking out, it's a bonus.
During easy weeks I work 9-5 (at the most) and take as long a lunch as I want. When I need to prepare, I may work late and on weekends (very rare). Most people in the office work between 35-40 hours.
I am home every evening so I can play with my kids, read to them at bedtime, tuck them in, and still have time to go to the gym at least a few times a week.

You lack perspective and it's evident by your posts. You need to take a trip and see how life is like for the majority of people in this world. You'll come to appreciate your life much more once you realize that food, shelter, and water is a luxury for many people.

You clearly have some desire to accomplish something - it's reflected in your overall dissatisfaction.
