question for fellow gamers...

when xp first came out, "which OS is the best fer gaming" was common discussion.

I kinda wanted to get an updated opinion... XP seems sluggish after the service pack, I'm actually hearing from some friends that good ole win2k is the best gaming OS sinse 98 has limited ability to use ram greater than 128mb...

so now in the year 2003, whats the best gaming OS?

I had very limited success with gaming on 2000 Pro.

I find that I personaly get the best results with 2000.

I should probably say I realy only play one game, Tribes2.

hmmm tribes is still a pretty taxing game , I'm in BF1942 myself

2000 is the best OS I have ever used for anything.

all games I've ever played (no old crap) work perfect and it's stable and fast.

I'm a Win2K die-hard.

The biggest fault I found was lack of controller support.

(Joystick/Driving wheel)

So I just stuck with 98 and Tri Booting with XP/2000/98 and using 98 for gaming.

Ill second that. I have win2k pro and it doesnt look like im leaving soon.

I have Win2K Pro and games run great. No need for me to get Windows XP.

sounds like 2kpro is the favorite... anyone like xp or 98se? too bad theres no recent benchmarks of the os's
