The moderators are anonymous, and they all share the same inbox... Go to your PM page, and type "AnandTech Moderator" in the box to send a PM to somebody.Originally posted by: YLdoUright
Okay, which one?
Ok, I'm bored, so I'll waste some time trying to answer this...Originally posted by: YLdoUright
Hmmm, why would they want to be anonymous? How many are there? Do they act as a counsel or are individuals assigned separate cases? Are they elected or appointed? How are they chosen? Is there a mechanism to appeal the actions of a mod if you are unhappy with it? I would imagine that there is some form of accountability or all kinds of nonsense can happen. Who moderates the mods? Does anyone here have any bad mod stories? Sorry about all the questions but I guess the replies triggered my curiousity
I would assume that they are assigned seperate categories to look after. There is a mechanism to allow for "Junior Moderators" which gives them limited access to what they can do. It seems that they usually act individually however there is a moderator-only forum that they can use for input on issues.Originally posted by: jliechty

As far as how they're chosen, other mods nominate users and as a group elect them although Anand has been reported to have suggested certain individuals directly.
I've also heard that not all them like it when new mods are brought into the fold.
jliechty already hit on all this really but I wanted to throw my 2¢ in.
Hmm, how do you know all this? Some insider info? (j/k)Originally posted by: aves2k

FYI, to avoid confusion - Aves2k quoted YLdoUright even though the quote block has my name on it.

hi mods, how do i change my picture?
When you post a new thread in Forum Issues, there is a feature that lets you mark a post as the "answer" to your question. It seems to me, however, once something is marked as the answer, it can not be un-marked (which is a bad thing since it's not too hard to accidentally mark your reply to your own thread as the answer). Since there's no undo, just be careful.Originally posted by: Tom
Excuse me, but how did you post this as a "question" and how did someone "answer" you ?

I don't remember seeing that... maybe an IE-only feature, or could it have been implemented only recently?Originally posted by: amdfanboy
