Hi all,
Is there that big of a difference performance wise between a GF2MX vs a GF2GTS??? I got it running on a P3 850 system.

Is it worth the trade up??? Can't afford a GF3 right now.

Please LMK

You can answer that question yourself.

Are there any games that play unsatisfactory on your MX? If yes, a GTS will improve that (depending in CPU speed).

If not, then sit tight till the GF3s are priced to move.

IMO the biggest difference between the MX and GTS(or pro) is not speed, but resolution. If 800x600 is ok for you, stick with your mx. if you want higher, get the gts.

It seems that my MX runs things pretty well but sometimes you wonder about that upgrade to something better itch.

GTS all the way, but If I were u I'd pay the extra $50 or so and get a GF2 Pro. It performs nearly up to Ultra performance.

I say wait for GF3...

It sounds to me that you are quite satisfied with your gaming performance with the MX, so no reason to get a GS2GTS now when prices of GF3 will probably come down shortly...

Yeah, if you had to choose between a MX and a GTS i'd get the GTS.

If you are looking for better options consider the Kryo II or a Radeon LE

I'd wait for the Radeon R200 or R300, which will supposedly blow away the GeForce 3

Radeon for me (2) that is

if i was on a small budget i would get the LE though maybe a Kyro or GTS/Pro but I would avoid the MX at all costs

mchammer, agree on gts/pro recommendation; but I've heard ATI cards have terrible Win2k support, and the Kyro is also suffering from driver issues, even if it is fast. IMO, Geforce MX is a great budget card for stability, even tho the overclockability of LE is very tempting...

I currently have a MX running in my system right now but I was wondering if it was a good buy to upgrade to the GTS.

Everyone is saying to hold pat so I guess I will.

Thanks.

no reason to spend that money when MX will be good for awhile

i got a MX too and i love it

i play all the newest gamez and the only game that really slowed down (sometimes) on me is Giants

but it was still playable

Yeah, probably not worth spending more money to upgrade from an MX to a GTS. Did you OC your MX? That'll squeeze a little more out of it. But with the Geforce3 out, and the Radeon2 coming out soon, GTS prices may fall even more, as will (hopefully) the really high end cards like the GF3 and R200.

I am not much of an overclocker. My cards run at stock speeds.

Thanks for all the advice people.

Looking forward to see what these new cards can do.
