Question - How reliable is the Asus PC Probe?

Well I took the plunge and tried my hand at overclocking a P4 1.6a and have been successful in getting up to 2.48 GHz on an ASUS P4B266-C, so far it has been stable. The only things is that the ASUS probe says that the temp of the CPU is at 40C under regular load and then around 48-50C when running Prime95. How accurate is the probe? Thanks

ASUS Probe is not known to be particularly accurate.

There also seems to be an issue with the P4B266 where any temperature below 40C is simply detected as 40C.

FYI, "asus 2" is the temp sensor for the CPU in MBM5

Yeah, it seems the the sensor has a "floor" of 40C. Let's hope a new BIOS fixes it.
