Hi guys,
I need to ask a few questions regarding how-to connect my soundcard to my home surround system. I am planning to upgrade my soundcard so I want to find the best solution.
1. I would be able to connect my soundcard to my surround using Creative's Home Theater Cable. My problem is that this cable is not available where I live (Hong Kong) and my PC to surround is 3 meter (9 ft) away. I can't tell whether those cable can reach that far.
Is there a way for me to purchase (make) those 3 cables separately so that the results are the same as Creative's cables?
2. My second alternative would be to buy Creative's X-Fi and connect to my surround using the digital cable. I use this to watch downloaded movies from my PC. Would the quality of sound really suffer using the digital connection?
On a separate thread, I have read that a digital connection may be a better choice if I have a surround processor (currently using Denon AVR-2808). Would this be true in my case?
Any suggestions are appreciated.
