Currently I can network my desktop and laptop the following 2 ways.
1) 10/100 NIC connections
2) DWL-650 Wireless connections running in AD-HOC
I am intending to add a DWL-1000AP to my hub (which is used when I hardwire/10-100 connect the machines) and remove the DWL-650 from the desktop (to be used in the future for another machine). I currently share dail-up over my network and want to increase the range of the laptop.
I am running Windows XP Pro, which the Wireless NIC Management software from D-Link apparently is incompatable with.
I have the following questions:
1) How do I configure the DWL-1000AP if the software is not XP compatable? I am not impressed with the setup I am currently running (the built in XP wireless software) for the DWL-650. I don't think I have much control.
2) Will this be complicated to do? Am I going to face a lot of problems?
