So I've been getting the upgrade itch for awhile, and I think I'm finally ready to go through with it. Considering that I've ran through just about other reasonable upgrade, I turned to looking at my monitor. I've got an 21" 1680x1050 TN panel (07-08 model). I'm looking to upgrade to a 24" 1920x1200 S-IPS panel.
I'm mainly wondering how much of a difference will I notice picture wise (Always getting told that it's a massive difference, but wanted to confirm it, before plunging with it). I get that I will suffer a bit more input lag, but I don't think that will be much of an issue (I'm terrible at fps).
Second part of the questions is concerning is I'm currently running two 460 (768 MB) oc'ed pretty good. Will I be taking a major hit because of the resolution or should it be more than adequate (I'm thinking in the sense of Battlefield 3, where I was expecting to run on fairly high settings due to the lowers res, etc)
Last question, with having the old monitor obviously obviously re-purposing it is always best, so making a dual monitor setup might be neat (although mismatched resolutions annoy me a tad). While gaming I don't plan on using the other monitor much, but what kind of penalty do you have for driving a second monitor, if it's just displaying a webpage or the desktop.
As always I appreciate the insight this community provides.
