Right now I have a Galaxy nexus, that im actually pretty happy with, but after seeing the note 2, i may have fallen in love. Even though the Nexus 4 is an impressive phone, its underwhelming when compared to something like the note 2. That coupled with the fact that Ive realized that I have to room in my life for a tablet, a bigger phone makes more sense.
Since owning a nexus, i have vowed to only buy nexus phones, not for quicker updates, but that I have had far less random crazy battery bugs vs running an AOSP rom on my captivate or my SGS2. IMO my nexus has been my smoothest android experience so far, and I even think it seemed faster than when using a SGS3 (with touchwiz)
My ideal phone would be a nexus phone, but with the same specs as the current note 2. Not sure when, or if that will ever be a reality, so I think my best option now, besides waiting another year for another nexus phone - is to get the note 2, and then put a custom rom on it.
I have a few questions first:
-Have any of you who are running an AOSP rom had any issues (vs the perfect experience im having i with my nexus)
-Is any of the samsung software necesary for using the s-pen?
How is battery life (in general, and when comparing the stock software vs AOSP)
-Are you using a case with yours? My friend has no case, and his phone without a case wasnt much bigger than my gnex with a case.
-How is the dev support? Im guessing pretty good since its such a popular phone
-Is there any parts of this phone that are lacking? Everything seems about as good as you can get - especially after viewing benchmarks.
-And lastly and most importantly - which model should i get (for better dev support) - ATT or international model? Im on straighttalk ATT right now.
Pretty sure im gonna make the change as long as i can get the phone for a decent price.
