Folks,
Current home network setup: DSL connection --> Actel ADSL modem --> SMC Router/Switch --> PCs
Yet I am moving to a new place, and want to use wireless network -- to avoid all the cabling, drilling, patching...
I have 2 Lucent ORiNOCO WaveLAN GOLD PC Cards (encryption 128RC4). My question is: do I have to buy a ORiNOCO wireless gateway or I can use these pc cards with any IEEE 802.11b wireless gateways?
If the cards are compatible, then what's the best out there? I am very happy with my current SMC router/switch (the printer server is a big plus), does SMC makes decent wireless router as well?
Last question, I currently have fixed IP, but my new DSL connection will be most likely not fixed, will that cause problem in setting up my wireless LAN?
Again, thanks to all you folks.
