Right, im looking to grab myself a 3.4ghz northwood (the fastest available northwood, 512k L2 cache) for real cheap to upgrade my old machine.
However im not so sure if my motherboard supports it or not.
Anyone have any anwsers to this?
On Asus's site, it simply said:
Currently using the beta bios 1021.003.
AGP ftw.
note - side question. Does the old motherboard gain any benefical peformance from using low latency memory modules? (yea i can get these for cheap too).

Intel 865 PE chipset
Leveraging the Intel 865PE chipset to support 3.2 GHz+ P4 CPU on 800MHz FSB, Dual DDR 400 memory, Intel Hyper-Threading Technology, and a full-range of advanced features, P4P800 Deluxe really delivers a full-value, high-performance solution for today's most demanding tasks.

AGP ftw.
