Yeah, TF2 is fun and all but it gets really..... boring after a while.

Ill be honest with you and say I found TF2 to be awful. Portal was overrated, and I never got into HL2 so EP2 meant nothing. Why i keep giving money to Valve for games that blow is beyond me. It seems like every game that used to rock that got put into the source engine sucks on the backend.

CS:S is avg at best
DoD:S Wow, way to take a great game and shat it down the toilet.
TF2: I found the game terrible, tried to play it for a weekend. It really is crap compared to TF for HL.

That said I purchased COD4 on kind of a whim. I heard there is a level system that unlocks weapons and abilities. I needed a FPS and TF2 wasnt getting it done. I saw the movies and though it looked pretty enough and everybody seems to raved about the COD series. So I went out and bought it and have been pleasantly surprised ever since. I really cant stop playing the game and have basically given up WoW for it hehe.

Edit: And I just flat out can't ever understand how people can like CoD4 and not TF2, let alone CoD4 MORE than TF2...

I'm the minority, I haven't played OJB. I did watch TF2 get played at a LAN over the weekend and didn't really care to try it out, however for $25 on BF I'll probably pick it up to play if I get bored of COD...

After having cleaned up the spyware on my computer (yes, I know...), CoD4 hasn't crashed once either. The experience is better than ever. If you already have HL2, get CoD4. If not, it's a tough choice. IMO Half-Life 2's mods are some of the best, so you might want to get a source game of some kind.

I've got about 30 hrs. on TF2. And I ain't bored yet! There alot of class tactics to learn, and of course, knowing the maps is important too. I didn't get the OJ Box, just TF2.

I personally can't get fully into TF2 yet - seems like a fun, fast paced shooter but too many classes (and the required team work) ruin it for me personally

Love Portal *the cake is a lie* FTW

Thought HL2 ep2 was too taxing for what the graphics were and stopped shortly after starting (back to Portal to finish)

Just played the Demo for COD4 and it will be purchased soon - can't attest to the Multi Player but it was pretty intense for a demo and graphics were top end

I'd suggest getting the demo for COD4 - test run that and make a decision off that - shouldn't take more than 2 hours to download

It is entirely tactical but not in the way you are inferring.

As far a team play vs solo, you can do both effectively.
