ISOLATE

1. Max HTT/FSB should be first ..*only works if motherboard has locks. Most A64 boards do today. Sata 1 and 2 are not locked on some nforce mobos use 3 and 4.
-set CPU multi to 6 or 7, this will take CPU out of equation
-set memory to SPD and 100, this will take memory out of equation
-Increase HTT/FSB up until you fail to boot or there abouts, back down 5%, (HTT * 0.95), this is your max safe HTT.

[/quote]

Im at 315 HTT right now... am i doing this right? What does set memory to SPD mean, and 100?

4400+ 1.5v OC @ 2588Mhz 235*11 air cooling

anyone else had luck with this chip?

my temps are hitting the low 60's C under load.

I currently have my X2 4400+ at 2.475GHZ @ 1.44V with my max temps reaching 48C w/2 Instances of Prime95 running. The only reason I am having to run so high is because my motherboard, A8N-SLI Premium, has a bug that allows for only two real voltages with X2 processors, 1.3V (Auto), 1.36V, and 1.47V. I am trying to get my memory to run higher than 225MHZ, and think it probably can hit 230 tops, which would give me the speed I am looking for! Right now I am at 225MHZ 2.5-3-3-8 on 2.8V with my OCZ Platinum 2GB Kit. I can move to 230 if I up my timings to 3-4-4-8, but would the extra 5MHZ FSB and 50MHZ clock speed make up for the slower memory timings?

there's barely any difference (1-4% max) if you use dividers or looser timings. You should run a divider and see how high your cpu can go.

Btw, STICKY!!!

Where did this 1.45V limit come from?

I have been running 1.475V for the last few days and temps are a manageable 54-degrees C under full dual-prime load in a very hot room (probably 28-degrees C at times).

BTW, this is one of the best quick-reference guides to OC'ing I've seen... MAKE IT STICKY!
