Quick Home Theater Subwoofer Question

everyone is pretty much on the same page now with yoyo being right with his assumption. The new receiver is indeed sending out an LFE signal which is being picked up by the sub however unless the sub is connected to the older receiver using the system connection cable it will not turn on. When you plug in the system connecter to the old receiver you can hear the subwoofer click on and click off if you unplug it so that wire is telling the sub it is ok to power on and we can't seem to power it on otherwise.

Here's a pic of the old system in question. It shows the cables of the sub and how they are connected. That system connector must be a trigger, or remote wire that tells the sub to power on. You need to get a voltmeter and see what voltage the system connector is putting out. I'm betting that it's some obscure voltage, and your pal will be in the market for a new sub. Post back when you have the reading.

Ya, measure the voltage and see if you can find a wall-wart of the same voltage. But... for all that trouble I would just purchase a 10" Dayton..
