Two quick questions:

1. Should I mount all my hard drives in the lower area next to the psu? I hear the Seagate 7200.10 is real hot and I wonder about putting it down there if things will get too hot.

2. Is reversing a fan so that it is an air intake simply done by unscrewing it and flipping it around the other way?

thanks.

1.)I'm running 2 hdd's in mine with a low speed psu fan, if it gets hot, just crank up the fans.

2.)yes

You shouldn't have to worry about the HDD overheating at all. The drives are made so that you don't need to have any cooling on them.

That being said however, a HDD can heatup a case somewhat. If you can cool em, do it, but blocking the airflow from the upper 120MM fan with a couple HDDs would be more detrimental IMO.

the hard drives will be on the bottom next to the fan down there. Hopefully thats enough to keep them cool.

I am running 3 drives in the lower chamber without the 120mm fan that came with the case to cool them. One of them is a 7200.10 and my experience says that the supposed high temps are greatly exaggerated. Mine in fact runs 1c cooler than my 7200.8. I simply sealed the air vents in the back of the case to force the power supply fan to pull all the air in from the front lower chamber intake vent. Sealing those vents resulted in a drop of roughly 10c for my hdds with those vents open and only using the P.S. fan to ventilate the lower chamber my drives were typically running in the mid 40's sealing those vents increased the airflow from the front vent and made a significant improvement in the drive cooling without requiring that stupid fan in there cluttering everything up.

I have a pair of 7200.10s that I've got in the upper bay but if I were doing SLI or had a very hot graphics card I'd probably put them in the lower bay specifically because that 38mm thick fan seems to move more air. I have a fan added to the front to blow over those hard drives though and they stay around 35c to 40c max. The reason I have them in the upper chamber is because it's a royal pain to get the SATA and power cables run down to the lower bay with my setup...
