Impeachment isn’t supposed to be a mulligan for the electorate making a bad choice.

Actually, it kinda is. That's why the guidelines for doing it are intentionally vague in the Constitution, albeit thoroughly detailed in the federalist papers.

I really don't really care, as long as whomever replaces him keeps up the pressure on trade but I think voting him out in 2020 is a much better option.

And the possible consequences of having him forcibly removed from office could be horrific somewhere own the line. You might anger a very volatile folk beyond repair.

So I take it that you like the model of removing folks like Gray Davis in California, and want the Trump presidency and lots of other political careers to end the same way? Or how West Virginia is taking care of their supreme court with all those impeachments?

I like how your examples have nothing to do with the actual lifetime of criminal acts that the Trump family are responsible for in the past, during his campaign, and as POTUS.

Keep on carrying on with that water: You always claim: "Oh yeah, Trump is horrible blah blah blah, but there are RULES! (that I will never ever be bothered to spell out) He will be ready to be impeached when I determine that the rules have been met!" At every fucking turn: He needs to say something incriminating...er, OK, we need proof of an actual crime....er, OK, he needs to be indicted, er, OK....and on and on and on.

You're only going to keep making excuses to defend a fucking turd and everyone knows it. Just stop pretending. Just. Stop.

Yeah but fuck their feelings, bro.

Seriously, though: fuck them all.

We angered a volatile King of England beyond repair, yet we managed. Holding oneself hostage to the fear that something bad might happen one day is an extraordinarily bad approach to living.

Yeah but that was necessary. Why put yourself at risk of assassinations and car bombings in your back yard when there's an easy way to solve the problem?

What way is that? Suffering illegalities and outrageous actions until the possibility of removal in 2020 doesn't solve anything, it encourages egregious acts and is the antithesis of liberty.

In the words attributed to Franklin, if I decide to cower for security I deserve neither that nor liberty. If necessary I am capable of defending myself and others by extreme measures at need. I will not be a slave to fear, and that is a necessity for me. Naturally, others may disagree.

So again, what is the "easy way"?

Wait a second...why was that necessary? There were a shit-ton of British loyalists who were farmers, fishermen, tailors, cobblers, whiskey distillers, that really weren't into the idea of rebelling against the state because a handful of upstart elitist landowners, concentrated in two rather small regions of the country (extremely, extremely wealthy individuals) wanted to stop paying their taxes. LoL--remember how in that new country, a lot of those farmers, the ones that survived, anyway, weren't even allowed to vote simply because they didn't own land?

....From an honest perspective of "the people" in the early US, rebelling was a fucking shitass deal for them.

Wait a second....what are you saying?

That the colonies shouldn't have declared independence because it was inconvenient for some people?

The easy way is to vote him out in 2020. He was voted in, like it or not.

Asking if Trump should be impeached in a forum that mostly full of liberals now (as evidenced by the number of trump hate threads that pop up daily here) is like asking if school kids want free candy...

Remember when conservatives quit making their mortgage payments in 09 because the housing market was never going to recover under Obama? Yeah, those same guys claim liberals suffer from TDS now.

So you think Trump is a good guy? Looking out for the common folk?

I like how you pull one lie for Obama and Clinton when Trump has lied more times than nearly anyone has been able to keep track.

Saying they are the same is so disingenuous as to be beyond my ability to believe you're for real.

Here. Check this: https://www.washingtonpost.com/grap...atabase/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.8c30d3ef6ecb

It's important to note that not only was a single example given, it's always the same example they use when trying to prove that Obama is a prolific liar. Why always the same one?

The funny thing is if I'm asked to prove that Trump is a liar, and I have been asked this question several times IRL, my biggest problem is deciding which example to start with.

"inconvenient"? lol, that is a horrible misrepresentation of what I said. Basically, it was thoroughly beneficial for a couple dozen landed people. Didn't make much of a difference for the rest, though. Most of them weren't allowed to participate in the new country, anyway. Oh, and that other inconvenience of their families being killed for it and their lands burned and destroyed. lol.

Yes, I'm glad it happened, so are you: But you addressed and I followed with the rationality of the decision at the time. The perspective and realities of the people at the time is vastly different from what contemporary rah rah nationalist pricks want is to believe it was.
