Quick Problems...

Okay so a friend of mines computer is "freezing after using it for a while and opening and closing different programs"

I was gonna tell her to first just get these outta the way....disk defrag, run ad-aware, and virus scan. I was thinking it may be something with the memory? not sure though...what would be some utilites to download that could check for memory problems, and what else should would you recommend to do. Thanks!

Have her d/l and run spybot, sorry don't have the link handy, just google it. It's another free d/l.

The quickest way and surest way is to swap out the system
memory and see if that fixes it.

I've tried some of the memory tester programs and sometimes
they "miss" a problem whereas you can prove it pretty quickly
by just changing the memory out.
