Quick Question about a Gigabyte Motherboard

Does this motherboard have video output capability? I'm building a cheap computer for a friend who's not interested in gaming, and as such he doesn't want to try and convince the wife to splurge on a video card he won't use. It says no on-board video, but I see a VGA connector on the motherboard, so does anyone know for sure if this board has the capability to just run Windows, Firefox, etc and not game?

Yes. You don't have to game..But you need to put a GPU in it or else.. well the computer won't work...

if there is a vga conector on the mobo then it has onboard video...which is probrobly better the a gefoece 7600 gt,,,because you can assign up to half of the installed ram to the video card on the gigabyte boards. I would recomend installing 512 -156 megs too video card and guess what you willbe able to play games and play them well.

you can overclock those gigabyte board big time without even changing voltages...if you really want to get in to it start palying around with multipliers and bus speeds and colyages you will be suprised at how good these boards are!

No, the board does not have on board video output capability. That is a serial port, not a VGA connector.

Thanks for the replies. As I said this isn't for me, it's for a buddy of mine who's not interested in gaming, so suggesting video cards isn't necessary. Anyone know of a cheaper mobo with onboard graphics capability? For an E7200 Wolfdale cpu.

Intel g35 or the better AMD 780g chipsets have onboard video

i'd take the 780g anyday

I'd go for a g31 chipset board (2 memory slots) or g33 with 4 memory slots. I use the g31 in msi brand, and it works great.
