quick question about amd cpu and mobo for u techies.

i have the athlon 1.4 on a Shuttle AK35GTR... i want to upgrade the cpu to something low in cost. i was thinking of the AMD Athlon XP 2400+ "Thoroughbred" 266 FSB, which is about 80 bucks.

1) wil the 2400+ cpu work on this board?
2) any suggestions on something else that will fit on this shuttle motherboard? with price in consideration

AK35GTR...if I'm correct it's a KT266A board. You'd want to check with Shuttle and their info, but if all goes well, the board should take the CPU. I had a KT266A board (8KHA+) and it could take the 2400+ as the maximum practical upgrade.

the board will tale a CPU with 200/266 FSB and 2400+ will be the max .... will not take a barton
