quick question for outlook/exchange people..

is there anything different when backing up someones email/contacts/calendar who's on exchange compared to just a regular outlook user? i know for just a regular outlook user, u can just export everything into a .pst file and then import it again.. is it the same even if they're on exchange?

Yes, you can export to a .pst from Outlook.

is there any difference tho that theyre on exchange? ive never messed with exchange before.. would all i have to do on their new computer is import the pst file i backed up and also set up their email account to connect to the exchange server and would that be it?

no exchange is a mail server. Outlook is a client.
Since you have the .pst file already backed up all you would need to do is import it on the new PC

If their info is store din Exchange, you don't need to back them up. They are on the server. But if they are stored in a personal folder, then you can export them or whatever if you need to.

You'll want to back up their archive folder(s). Recent messages should be stored on the Exchange server, as others have mentioned.
