Says it's capable of 5-5-5-12 timings, not amazing I know but I'm currently running a G.Skill 2GB set at 5-5-5-15 so it would still be slightly faster right?

Basically I don't know much about Patriot, I've been looking to get different memory for a while now, and was planning on getting some Corsair TwinX at 4-4-4-12 timings, but for 35.00 AR this is a freaking steal. Is Patriot reputable? Is 5-5-5-12 going to be any type of issue at all? I do overclock, plan on getting an E8400 and pegging it around 3.6GHZ or so, nothing super extreme but it's definately something I want to have kept in mind.

Thoughts and advice would be appreciated, thanks!

PS. System is used entirely for basic web browsing and apps, and gaming only. No photoshop, video editing or anything like that.

You will not be able to tell a performance difference between the two sets. However, you may be able to tell a performance difference from the extra RAM, depending on the applications/games that you run and how much multitasking you do. Since you just do basic web browsing and such, you won't benefit at all from upgrading.

Patriot is a good brand, and the price is a STEAL! I just got a set for $10 more, and I'm going to order a second set.

Zap I do a ton of gaming as well, especially MMO's where the extra memory should help significantly with load situations, even though I know that XP 32 bit won't utilize all 4 Gb of it, I'll take 3.5 or so and still be happy. Considering I spent almost 200 dollars for the 2 GB I have right now 2 years ago, I feel a little used.

Why not get anther cheap G.skill set and turn down the timings to 4-4-4-12? Then you will have your previous 2Gb + another 2Gb at 4-4-4-12.

Mainly because I'm not convinced that the current sticks of G.Skill I am using are in perfect working condition. Moreover, I've read that it's easier to overclock with 2 sticks than 4, and the Patriot memory has tighter timings than my current sticks of RAM which are almost two years old now. Additionally, why pay 40 dollars for 2GB of G.Skill with comparable specs when I can pay 35 after rebate for the Patriot 4GB set? I'm honestly not that impressed with the G.Skills, if I had it to over again I would go with Corsair which is why I'm kind of leery of trying Patriot, not knowing much about them.
