I've got 2 boston butts that I dry rubbed sitting in my fridge. Both are about 9.5 lbs each. How long am I looking at for putting both in my smoker? I know the rough timing is 1.5 hrs / lb but does that formula still work for multiple butts?
It's done when the temp is right. The 1.5 hours / lbs is probably still pretty good as a ballpark number, but it's all about the temperature, not the timing.
