Quick switches on motherboard

I have a GA-X58A-UD5 ver.1.0 and I would like to know if the quick switch on my board allows me to turn the board on when I pre-post the hardware outside the case. And does it also turn it off. The reason I'm asking is another way would be to short the two pins on the F.panel section. I just really want to know if this is one motherboard that has this feature of a on board power switch.

Gigabyte's specs vaguely suggest that it does (saying it has the "Onboard Quick Switch" switches), but from various online photos and the board layout shown here (granted, it's for rev 2.0), all I can see is the Clear CMOS button (on the back panel).

Mine does have the quick switch, it is in the corner on the face of the motherboard. I just want to know if this bottom can be used instead of shorting the two pins on the f.panel to start up a post before I install the motherboard in the case. This is just a pre-post to see that ("so far so good") is good.

You can use the quick switches on the top right corner of the motherboard named PW_SW. It is kinda hard to differentiate it from other components from an actual photo shot of the motherboard. Gigabyte should have made it more distinct and stand out that it is a button.

Yes that's the one, PW_SW to the right of the memory just below Phase LED. This is what I wanted to know to use instead of shorting the two PW pins in the f.panel
