as many people using QB 2005 are forced to upgrade by end of this month

Intuit is "discontinuing support" (and functionality!!!) of certain features (,e.g. the ability to e-mail invoices). If you don't use those features and do not need the general support, I guess you can continue using it, for many businesses that is not an option though. IMHO this behaviour boarders on extortion. They are entitled to discontinue support. The practice of deliberately turning off features though is very questionable, and I wonder if it holds legal muster.

I presently "use" QB2005 in my business (paranthesis meaning I barely utilize any of its features). Accounting to me is llike plumbing-I grasp the concepts easily but putting it into practice totally stymies me.

Anyway, Staples also has Peachtree this week free after huge MIR. Is that a suitible alternative for someone like me?

All I need is bank account, invoicing (maybe, I have a time program to do this also), trust account, and keeping track of clients, no charge cards as of yet, no employees at the present.

Peachtree gave me all sorts of weird IE errors last time, although it worked. Except they screwed me on the rebate so I'm still pissed at them.
