quiet 80x80x15 mm fan, anyone?

Just got a new case for the network MP3 box. (love the asus VM uATX board!)

Anyway, the PSU fan is a SUPERRED, pretty loud. (edit) It's low-profile, only 15mm thick. I have some 80mm quiet fans, but they are all 25mm thick. Does anyone know where I can get a 15 mm thick fan that is really quiet (and cheap, hopefully)

Here are a couple leads: Digikey has the 15mm-thick version of the Panaflo L1A here and Sidewinder Computers has a nice Sanyo Denki here I don't know for sure but I'd expect the Panaflo comes with bare wires, so the Sanyo Denki might be your best bet if you don't want to solder.

Hey, cool, thx! Sanyo looks like a nice fan. (edit) wait, I thought ball-bearing was better than brushless, no? $20 is a lot for a brushless fan, it seems....

Brushless doesn't refer to the bearing type, you're thinking of sleeve versus ball. Brushless is a type of DC motor, and I think it's the norm for case fans.

It deserves to be noted that the "Hydro-Wave" bearings on the Panaflos are technically sleeve bearings but their design is different and far superior in quality, so they should last about as long as a ball bearing fan used in the same operating conditions (mostly referring to dust concentration which no fan is really all that immune to.)

Thx again guys. I don't want to solder ( I don't even have any pins...) and the $19 fan did not pass the money person approval (GF)

So I went with this one for $10. I hope it works, otherwise I will have to buy Sanyo anyway... (or just a new case)
