Quiet CPU heatsink fan with sensor?

What is a quiet 80 mm fan for use with an SVC-GC68 heatsink. I am now using an Panaflow LA1. It is quiet but has no sensor line. I'd like one with a sensor connector wire to take advantage of the Soyo Dragon+ fan sensor that shuts down the system if the fan fails.

I ordered a Vantec Stealth (and a AX-7) for my Soyo Dragon + to replace my Thermaltake 7. The Stealth is supposed to have fan monitoring.

Received my AX-7 and Vantec Stealth. Running same temps as Thermaltake Volcano 7 running at full tilt. Vantec is as quiet as my Panaflo case fans. The noisest thing in the computer is the hard drive. However the FOC on the Soyo Dragon + does not appear to work I don't think it turns enough RPM's so I keep it turned off.

Same thing happened with the stock fan that came with my SVC GC-68 HSF -- the FOC shut down the system as it booted. So I replaced the fan with a Panaflo LA1 and turned FOC off temporarily until I find a quiet fan with a sensor line, and that runs fast enough for the Dragon+ to detect it. SVC tech support said they think the Dragon+ requires RPM's to be over 2500.

It runs fine with the Panaflo and FOC set to off. (I guess it would have worked with the SVC stock fan too with FOC off. But I had the Panaflo laying around anyway.) I'd like to take advantage of the protection that FOC provides - thus I'm searching for a new fan.

I suspect that you may have a Catch-22. If the soyo won't detect a fan with less than 2500 rpm, then it will probably be noisier than you would like. That number may/may not be accurate, anyway, the guys at svc could have pulled it out of thin air.

Check Gizzo's fanpage for reference, it's by no means complete, but it's a place to start. Rpm sensing fans have a tendency to be noisier than their non-signalling counterparts, the electronic switching can be heard with some models.

Jhhnn, do you have a URL for Gizzo's fan page? I did a web search and only came up with a web design company. Thanks.
