Quiet keyboard

What brands of keyboards are quiet and smooth? I'm using the logitech cordless freedom optical and i notice that the keyboard is not as quiet as microsoft ones. But this logitech keyboard looks amazing

i like my logitech basic keyboard but i gotta admit the dell quietkey KB is REALLY quiet as its name implies

for me it's the touch and feel of the keys that metter more than noise

Yep. Even though it doesn't have any Hotkeys/scroll wheels/volume controls/etc, it's still the best thing out there IMHO.

Hmmmm. I prefer the looks of the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop... any comments on that?

Besides you can't buy the Dell keyboard separately. ;(

there are keyboards out there that aren't mechanical at all... more like a rubber mat... the only sound is your fingers thumping against the mat. of course, you have no tactile feedback.

The dell keyboards are quiet. You can get them from Directron for about $5 usually.

my experience has been the opposite, logitechs are smoother and quieter btw, only logitech wireless mice are any good. the mx series atleast.

Just for archival's sake.. the quietest keyboards I've used are from Zippy. Look at their slim line series which uses the same material in laptop keyboards which are quiet to begin with.

I've been using the WK-801 for half a year now and just purchased a WK-711, both pretty much silent compared to my Dell Quietkey (yea right) and $135 Cherry quiet keyboard. Search for Zippy keyboard at Newegg and see what they got.

They also make sexy aluminum keyboards that still only seem to be available in Asia at this point. Link. You can probably have one imported if you're ambitious enough.
