Quiet keyboards. Are there any ?

I have been looking for a keyboard that makes very less noise while typing. I just don't like the "click". Few years back I had a IBM keyboard that was very quiet. Don't remember the model number. Recently in Staples I found Gyration keybaords pretty quiet but don't care for any of that RF stuff. Does anybody know if any keyboards are exceptionally quiet ?

Searched web/forums didn't get any hits anywhere. Am I alone who likes this kind of keyboard?

You mean QUIET?

Unfortunately, the most quiet keyboards are those really cheap ones that use a silicone mat to implement the key springs. Those really good and expensive keyboards that actually use a mechanical switch for each key (like these old clicketyclick IBM keyboards, as well as many of the really expensive ergonomic keyboards) are somewhat louder.
I'd be much more annoyed by the lack of feedback and ergonomics provided by those quiet rubber mat keyboards.

I like how my Logitech Elite keyboard feels compared to the Microsoft Internet Keyboard Pro. It's a lot easier for me to type and was quieter than the Microsoft one.

They have many low profile key, short stroke key, rubber, scissor type and membrane type keypads to choose from.

CUSA also has a rubber flex keypad that is shorter from left to right.

I tried the original plastic (not rubber) roll-up keyboards years ago. They left much to be desired. It was like pressing on an air bubble that you didn't know which part of the key the bubble would rise to.
