I haven't been impresswed with the Zalmans or the Nexus series. For true quiet these are the only ones I would recommend:

Slap a panaflo L1a or Pabst <15dB fan in your current powersupply and be done with it.
Either your name is Matt Murdock, you have tinnitus, or the voices in your head make fan noises -- the Nexus is already about as close to silent (without an overheating PS) as you'll get outside of a passively-cooled power supply.Originally posted by: Bar81

I almost killed myself trying that on my Nexus 300W

Do you know of a guide or have any tips on doing this? Would you have to cut off the fan's molex connector and splice it's wires into the power supply's internal wires?

search for fortrons with a 12cm fan, very cheap and very quiet and also just very high quality
The capacitors in a PS can give you a nasty shock, don't just open it up and start poking around unless you're applying for a Darwin award.Originally posted by: henmaster
