quiet is an understatement.

i had the oem seagte 80 gb and it was almost silent compared to the case fan.

upgraded to maxtor 120gb and it was a nightmare in noise. couldn't take it anymore.. went with dell seagate 120gb offer for $111 and all is well again.

my computer access the hard drive so much...i just don't want to know about it.

i know maxtor also makes so quiet drives as well, but i am not chancing it anymore.

for quietness, it's seagate all the way for me.
