The original question posed by Einstein was ?Who keeps the fish??
I want to know who is in each house, who smokes what cigar, what color house do they live in, what pet do they have, and what beverage do they drink.

In a street there are 5 houses painted 5 different colors. In each house lives a person of a different nationality. The 5 homeowners each drink a different beverage,
smoke a different brand of cigar, and keep a different pet.

The question is: Who keeps the fish?

HINTS:

1. The Brit lives in the red house.
2. The Swede has a dog.
3. The Dane drinks tea.
4. The green house is on the left of the white house.
5. The owner of the green house drinks coffee.
6. The person who smokes pall mall has birds.
7. The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhills.
8. The man living in the center house drinks milk.
9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
10. The man who smokes blends lives next to the one who has cats.
11. The man who has horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhills.
12. The man who smokes blue master drinks beer.
13. The German smokes prince.
14. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
15. The man who smokes blends has a neighbor who drinks water.

Albert Einstein wrote this riddle in the early 20th century. He said that 98% of the population would not be able to solve it. Good luck.

This really isn't that difficult.
It's just a matter of organising the data properly, and if 98% of the population can't do that then something is definitely wrong in the world.

BTW The answer is ...

The German

We used to do these kind of problems all the time in grade school. You set up a grid with things listed across the top and down the sides and then put "o" if it's true and "x" if it's false.

98% - Not all that impressive considering Einstein wrote it in the 19th Century.

Actually this question is more complicated than the ones on the test, but same principle. Too lazy to work it out

Does anyone remember the one Einstein did about the three guy's and the hotel room. They each pay four dollars, the managed decides he overcharged them, gives the beel hop 4 dollars to give them back, he can't split $4 three way's so he pockets $1....etc

I used to know how the whole thing went but have forgotten the fine (and important) details over the years.

Anyone know exactly how this one went?

3 guys checked into a hotel one night that cost them a total of
$30 which means that each guy spent $10 each for a total of $30.
The next day the manger realized that the men have been over
charged and gave the bellhop $5 to bring back to the men.On the
way to the 3 guys room the bellhop took and kept $2 of the $5 he
was bringing back .when he got to the room he gave back $1 to
each guy which now means that each guy has only payed $9. nine
times the 3 guys eguals $27. add the $2 that the bellhop kept to
the $27 that the guys payed n that eguals $29.what happen to the
other dollar?

****warning answer below******

The answer is that there is no extra dollar. Once the guys have their dollar each refunded, they have only handed over $27 total. So you take the $25 that's in the managers hand and add the $2 that is in the bellhops pocket to get the total $27 that the guys paid out in the end. Don't have to worry about $30 in the end.
