I have had a few panaflow's and stealth fans, and recently I triend a new brand I found named SilenX. I must say that the new ones are the best I've come across. The fans are inherently quiet and also provide rubber mounting plugs which isolate the vibration from going to the case. They are somewhat expensive, but if you want quiet, its worth it. They also offer some fanless ps solutions, but they cost an arm and a leg.

You can buy the same gromets or whatever you call the silicone mounting devices that are used on the silenx fan. I did, and I can say, that they are definitely worth it IF you have a fan that creates a lot of vibration noise or a case that reverberates a lot. I have an aluminum lian li and when the adj enermax fans were at higher speeds there was an annoying buzzing from the top fan. You can ussually tell if its vibration buzz by pushing lightly on the fan casing or the case near the fan mounting. Don't block the fan flow. If the noise changes, then its probably vibration noise and those help. I am more impressed today with the enermax thermal control fans that I bought earlier. They are definitely better than the vantecs. It's funny, I initially attributed the whiny sound the vantecs were making to the enermax's. One of the nice things I've found about the enermax's is that if you interfere with the airflow on the intake, they don't get much louder or change in pitch much. The panaflo's are the sameway. The vantec stealths were hideous about that. So is the thermaltake silentcat that runs on my hsf. The panaflos that I ordered do not have an rpm sensor on them. Just a heads up to you guys, three pins do NOT equal a sensor on the panaflos. They are all built with a third lead, but they do not all do rpm reporting. Some only do seizure reporting. Most do neither. http://www.panasonic.com/indus...ce/pdf/fanfeatures.pdf
Make sure its a model with designation BX if you want fan reporting. I am haggling with the net vendor that I bought my fans from for fixing the fact that he falsely advertised the panaflos that he sent me. I am now contemplating keeping the adda's that came with my lian li since I bought a fan controller. I am contemplating using the two enermax and two addas. I would be able to adjust all four, plus the enermaxs would auto adjust as temps change. I might even consider all four on a fan controller. For ball bearing fans they've impressed me. The adda's are sleaves. The vantecs may seem great compared to some really loud case fans, but I would never buy another set again. I am actually ooking to get rid of mine. Anyone interested in two two week old vantec stealth fans? =D

I haven't heard the medium speed hypro panaflos or addas. I really want to check them out..

Really, If you want quiet there is no reason to look further than here -> BGMicro Panaflo 80mm 12L $3.19 ea. or 10+ for $2.69ea.
These fans come with a 2 pin connector. Trim one side a bit and it will work fine in a 3 pin plug. They also have 3 pin or 4 pin molex connectors for the @ $1.49 ea.

So i am guessing that these seem like the best price vs performance fans. Will i notice a conderable difference in temp if i change out my 2 old 80mm antec pro fans (34 cfm).

the 80 12ls move less air, so it maybe a little warmer. I wouldn't say it woud be a drastic change. If you want to swap for idnetical cfm then get yourself the M1As which move 32cfm

I ended up getting four vantec stealths and they work great. Now my only problem is the loud fan on my heatsink.
