I haven't posted here in awhile, but after building a computer a couple months ago (i7) I've found there just aren't that many comparison tests of PWM fans on the internet yet...
I have a Xigamatek Dark Knight heatsink on my CPU but I've since removed the original fan which had a bearing pitch that bothered me for some reason and i'm currently running a Gentle Typhoon B5AP-15 1800rpm fan which is running at full speed ALL the time since its not a PWM fan. Its not loud during the daytime, but its still too loud to leave running at night which I only occasionally do. I also don't overclock, so high-speed fans are not a concern.
BTW, I replaced all the other fans on the case (Antec 900 II) with lower rpm Scythe Gentle Typhoons (which are great compared to the original case fans) which i'm using Speedfan to control the speeds automatically instead of the knobs that came with the originals.
So anyway...
The question is, what is the quietest PWM fan on the market right now, and has anyone actually compared several PWM fans against each other yet?
