The following link is to a quiz that asks 25 questions that you answer by picking the appropriate radio button choice. It has some questions that were very hard for me like, which do you trust more, the executive or the legislative branch? It then rates you on a liberal/conservative continuum and lets you know how you compare to various famous people.

Political Quiz The introductory material for the quiz reads:
Ever wonder where you beliefs were on the LIBERAL versus CONSERVATIVE scale. Here is an easy way to find out by taking this short 25 question The following quiz was written by Victor Kamber and Bradley S. O'Leary and appeared in the October 28-30, 1994 issue of USA Weekend. Before you vote in the next election, take this quick, quiz to see where - and with whom - you really stand.

I'm an 11.

But I wish they would've worded some questions a little better. A lot of the answers I had to give, I wasn't comfortable with.

I got a 12, but I agree with Darkhawk28. Most of the questions had no grey area choices and I didn't feel comfortable with all of the answers I had to give.

I could not finish the test. I have no answer to who I trust more, the executive or the legislative as my trust in either is zero.

I'm with Hillary at 10. I'm in middle of the liberals. And as Moonbeam points out, there are some I just had to answer to finish the quiz.

30.. HAHAHA and you all thought I was totally off the chart.

I am wondering if some of the people from my "P&N is to the left" thread will come take the test and post their scores. Especially the people who acuse me of being off the chart and seem to believe that P&N is closer to the middle than it actually is.

I would guess that most of the nation falls between 15-25 and anyone outside of that can be called either left or right.

I actually agree with your last sentence.

it is as obvious as a bell curve. too bad the current setup discourages from third party voting

I got a 20, which is middle-of-the-road. The quiz however is extremely flawed IMO. Not complete enough and obviously biased towards bipartisanship. Several of the questions were false dilemmas, forcing one to choose between 2 unacceptable solutions.

I think I should have said the country is between 20-25, since evidence shows that the country in recent years has been leaning to the conservative side.

Clinton, a 15, was elected the first time by running as a centrist Democrat, not a traditional Democrat. There was a lot of talk about middle class tax cut and such, promises that never happened.
He tried to run the country as a more liberal Democrat for 2 years (raised taxes, nationalized healthcare, gays in the military etc) and the result was a 54 seat change in the house. Then for the next 6 years he ran the country as a middle of the road Democrat with a Republican congress.

Also, take away the mess of the Iraq war and the Democrats would not have a prayer of retaking congress. As it is even with Bush's low approval numbers and overall dissatisfaction with Bush the Democrats are still working hard as hell in hopes of getting a simple majority in the house, and have almost no chance of taking the Senate.

Overall, the country as a whole is more conservative than it is liberal. If you disagree then post something that proves we are moving towards the left in great numbers, I have not seen that trend.

I took the test twice, first answering the questions I didn't have an answer for as a liberal, then answering them as a conservative would. I got 11 and 18.
