Agreed. Several of the questions had no reasonable answers.

I scored 21, next to Powell.

Awesome, I am right between Bob Dole and Ronald Reagan. Hmm, I must have answered a few incorrectly.

Yeah had a hell of a time there. I said executive cause it takes more money to bribe a congress than a lone president.

Scored 13. Tho I do consider myself to be more in agreement with the true conservative philosophy on government. It's when conservativism goes to religion that I draw the line.

I scored a 26, but a 2 dimensional view of politics is a false presumption. Authoritarian VS Libertarian must also be taken into account, and in this day of age it is perhaps FAR more critical to understand. While we fight amongst ourselves to install Left or Right, we?re ignoring that ALL of those crooks we place into office are Authoritarians and none of them give a damn about our freedoms.

Vic said it best.
I too scored a 20, though I know on some issues I am extremely to the left, and others, extremely to the right.

But I wish they would've worded some questions a little better. A lot of the answers I had to give, I wasn't comfortable with.

Agreed, and I scored a 15. In fact, far left vs far right is no real difference, both are extreme authoritarians that have an agenda to push independent of your individual rights and freedoms.

I am wondering if some of the people from my "P&N is to the left" thread will come take the test and post their scores. Especially the people who acuse me of being off the chart and seem to believe that P&N is closer to the middle than it actually is.

I would guess that most of the nation falls between 15-25 and anyone outside of that can be called either left or right.

Yeah, P&N isn't looking too far to the left, skippy.

Questions are not that good. Who set up the rating score also may be inaccurate. In the breakdown of traditional family, do they mean gay rights or the financial squeeze. Gay rights a threat, no. Higher med costs, education costs, energy costs and shrinking wages, yes.

33, although some of those questions were pretty lame. Take the crime one for example... what if I don't support building prisons or the inner city with government money?

I would not agree with your anology. Look back at the people who posted their scores. There are only a few above 25.
There are WAY more sub 20 scores.
And we have not seen any of the more liberal posters answer with their scores. Where is Craig, Shadow, Dave, Techs, Jack, Steeplerot, senseamp, Pens1566, Red Dawn or umbrela39 with their scores? Those are some of the most active and the most left members of this board.

I don't remember if you personally claimed that I was far to the right, but you are as far to the left as I am to the right.

I don't think I claimed you were a far righty (I believe your ADHERENCE to your beliefs is pretty extreme, but not the beliefs themselves), and if I did, I probably hadn't though my comment all the way through. But unless I'm mistaken, the middle of a zero to 40 scale is 20, which is closer to 15 than 30 last time I checked.

Er, I'm not real sure we can gauge the overall lean of P&N by averaging the scores of a handful of people you think are liberals. In fact, that would seem to defeat the entire purpose of judging the entire board. If you're trying to prove that liberals are not some mythical creature and do in fact exist, you don't have to convince me...but your argument is that P&N is very biased towards the left, and I just don't see how averaging the scores of handpicked liberal posters helps prove your case. And in any event, the average score of those posters you listed is 14.22, hardly a bunch of a lefty extremists.

You are right about 15 being closer to 20 than 30. Although I think America is a little to the right of 20 based on the past 7 Presidential elections.
Every Democrat who has run since 1980 has been a 15 or lower, in my estimation, and not one of them has gotten above 50% of the vote.
Meanwhile, Reagan, Bush 41 and Bush 43 are at least a 25 or more and ALL of them received above 50.
You have to go all the way back to Johnson to find a liberal Democrat who won with 50+% of the vote. As for Jimmy Carter, any Democrat could have won in the post Watergate era.
There is no doubt in my mind that conservatives have dominated the country politically on the national level for the past 25+ years.
Even with everything go bad for the Republicans and good for the Democrats this year the Democrats are still hoping to just barely win a majority in congress and will most likely not hit the 51 seats they need to win the Senate.

I thought the same thing...but I'd trust legislative slightly more only because they bicker so much, which means they ultimately get less done. There were a few questions I didn't like though, and felt I was choosing of the lesser of two evils that I wouldn't accept anyways...

I got a 20
