What would prove the better overclocker? I am aiming for whatever I can get out of a Scythe ASM w/ Ceramique (or AS5, I have both). I have heard of people using this cooler to cool the 45nm C2Q's to 4.0GHz, but of course their heat output is also lower. I can't run the Q9xx0's on this chipset (RD600), and I don't plan on swapping mobos until Nehalem (new socket). Right now, I can get either processor for roughly 300$, so the potential price difference is a non-issue.
I know the only tangible difference between the two (besides the stepping) is the multi, and because of that the only thing limiting the OC on the QX would be heat. Is 380 x 10 (3.8) realistic on good air with a B3 C2Q? Do I have a better chance going 400 x 9 (3.6) on the G0 Q6600? Do B3's require a lot more voltage?
I know there is the stigma that G0's have more headroom than B3's, but it seems to be very close. What am I to do?
I appreciate your anticipated help.
