CNN’s fact checker. Preliminary count, 13+ blatant false claims. But yeah it’s just the greatest hits. Not like he has new lies to tell.

Lighten up?
Your doom posting is getting old.
You've been doing it for years.
Time for you write some new material

"Now I see the funny side.

Now I'm always smiling."

BTW it's not doom posting if it's already happened.

It's a post-doom scrolling world, and we're just here for the ride of our lives.

I think Senator Slotkin did her job as well or better than anyone else could.

Watching these propaganda fests and chest-thumping sessions is useful. It provides some intelligence about what the Pres intends to do. He focused too much time on Social Security, making stuff up about the 150-year-olds still getting a benefit. In fact, that's all phony baloney. They are actually preparing to cut Social Security at the knees. Thus the repetitive propaganda.

It reminds me of a parody of Joe McCarthy in Condon's "Manchurian Candidate". "There are 200 communists in the State Department!": "How many was that again, Senator Iselin?" "There are 150 communists in the State Department." It's in chapter 10 of the book. I think you can figure it out from here, though. In the fictional novel, Iselin is "going after" the communists. In Trump's speech, he wants to "go after" your grandmother's pension.

I see from this thread that Trump was on TV. Sounds like it upset a lot of people. Trump must have loved it. Earlier I went shopping came home, squeezed a fresh piece of lemon, added ice, bitters, Jack Daniel’s, SevenUp, ate dinner, and took a nap.

I get a lot of letters requesting money from the Democratic Party that go in the shredder unread.

Just fucking stop already. FFS!
Isn’t he just trying to emotionally distance himself from reality without self awareness or intent. I see nothing really wrong with what he says. Seems to me he just doesn’t have the psychological fortitude to admit to his attempts to poo poo reality. There’s emotional safety in hopelessness. But there are different kinds of hopelessness. There’s the hopelessness that exists because no one individual can change our circumstances, and he hopelessness we conjure up to numb our pain.

As with Mrsquished, I see the truths he sees, I agree with what he says, but am more indifferent to it emotionally because to me the emotions come from having been blamed and carrying guilt that isn’t real. Rage makes us blind and it can make us sick. I would prefer that not happen to him.

Just my opinion.

They were booing quite loudly at each lie at the start. Johnson then said he would have them removed. What are they supposed to do?

You whine more than Trump.
You get yourself removed and go join/command the protests outside?

How come they can look at jan 6th and learn nothing?

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Trump and his sycophants in Congress manages to cripple Social Security and turn it into a private insurance scam while the Republican working class folks who voted for this to happen and lose their main source of retirement/medical income simply raise their shoulders to their ears, face their palms to the sky and lament how it wasn't their fault for making themselves become poverty-stricken from fighting against liberal commie socialism.

The question I have is how to resist. What is effective if anything. Yelling at clouds doesn't seem to do much. I have decided not to feed the beast. The majority of voters chose to participate in a mass psychosis. You can't hold up a stop sign in front of a stampede. A narcissist craves attention and hatred is a powerful source of attention. I think Trump is happy to be hated and works at creating it. I don't want to play his game.

I knew all of the blatant fakery going on would only irritate my sensibilities so why watch it to begin with. However my wife watched that Liar's Convention to satisfy her sense of morbid curiosity and came away pretty well pissed off about it. I chose to avoid the obvious result of viewing the whole F List Fictional Comedy Show, replete with amateur actors hand picked by Trump to act like skilled cabinet members and failing miserably at it, all while I envisioned the conservative sycophants, lackeys and Republican MAGA fan club members faking their adoration for and cheering on their Head Hoax-in-Chief with their painted on smiles and programmable mechanical hand clappers.

I just wondered how people can fake their way through a compendium of falsities and fraudulent behavior and come away from it not feeling a microgram of shame, guilt and embarrassment at what they had to put themselves through for that interminable 1-3/4 hour sham shower.

Look at what a loon you are. Between us in this thread you insulted me first, and now you're like 'oh no you're insulting me this is what you are!'

Shut the fuck up you weirdo. Imagine the cognitive dissonance to post what you post with this sequence of events here.

Reminds me of the intellects of some trailer park MAGA.

Also I mostly post information and insightful political commentary. And while I do spice it up and fling insults too, to think and say that's all I do is laughable. On top of being clueless as to the sequence of events here you're also a complete liar.
Why don't you guys stop your immature schoolyard fight? Do you expect people to read these posts?

In my opinion it goes back to how parents who are unaware that they hate themselves pass that same disease along to their children. In homes where children’s behavior will determine whether they will have social standing or not, whether they become winners or losers, whether they go to heaven or hell, parents who themselves elves will be judged by the character of their kids will use violence, cohersion and guilt to achieve a positive result.

In my opinion again, this creates two reactions one of which is Stockholm Syndrome, a state in which the child, in order to survive the shaming, turns against the misbehaving part of the self with contempt with the sane contempt the parents showed creating the fiction that such shamefullness ever existed.

As a result, were the Stockholm victim to feel any shame for the ego contempt it now feels towards any kind of behavior that triggers disgust, that would threaten to awaken the truth of what that person went through. The thing a Stockholm victims fears like death is reliving what happened to them. This is why they fave no issues with shame. It’s the very feeling they mastered, the feeling they profoundly must never allow to surface. Their deny their own guilt by shaming others. They have become the inquisitors, cowards who find safety among fellow victimizers. And the bigger the show the better because the pain they repress has to come out somewhere. They need to create victims on whom they can transfer all that repressed shame.

Additionally, because they died of shame the only resurrection that could actually save them is to remember and refuel what happened to them, but are armored to never allow that to happen, they will unconsciously be compelled to act in shameful ways. That is why they are so disgusting. It’s how they feel about themselves. All games of denial are obvious to less damaged people.

Insanity for the rest of us consists in the notion that if we can just shame those idiots enough they would reform like more of what creates self contempt would be medicinal.

Saw an MSNBC interview today of a couple of Democratic senators who said they voted for Rubio (who used to be a hawk on Russia and now is sucking Putin's toes) and now say they wouldn't vote for him. I wonder if Rubio himself wonders where his spine went.
Trump been ate that shit up (his spine) and feeds it to him like a mama bird feeds their chicks.

Besides just the very few, the Democrats are literally sitting there while Trump shits on them with lies, just taking it like little pathetic punching bags.

When all they have to do is stand up and walk out en masse. They won't even get arrested. And nobody's going to hurt them. Nobody's going to touch them. It's the most pathetic display of opposition in the face of grave danger I've ever seen in my lifetime. When there is no chance of any kind of violent retribution. Literally nothing.
They shouldn't have attended in the first place. Or as soon as Al Green got tossed, they should have individually interrupted the speech and got thrown out one by one.

Fuck Mike Johnson!!! Fuck Trump!!! Fuck Decorum!!!

I didn't watch. Knew I would just be disgusted by Trump and a feckless response by Democrats.
I would have been at least curious to see Democrats' response but being subjected to 90+ minutes of Trump addressing joint congress (the longest in the history of the USA), was plenty enough for me to not consider tuning in. Even 10 seconds of him with sound on is just plain offensive.

I agree that he loves all attention, and if it has to be angry attention, he is ok with that. Gets him both sides focused on him.

Coming up with an effective resistance is certainly the goal. When the leopard starts eating the MAGA faces as it already has, we can only hope that gets them to write off the fact that they were duped and motivate them to get even.

The thing that seems to annoy me the most is that they often ask my opinion but only about a set of stupid ideas they themselves came up with. They want my opinion of their ideas when they don't have any that fit the bill. They aren't really interested in hearing what their voters think of them. or why they fuck everything up. They lose election after election and remain convinced they should control the agenda. They ask what is important to me their stupid idea A or their stupid idea B. They aren't actually interested in changing. They have their million pounds of cabbage in the form of sacred cows they would feel terror without. You notice how brave they are, how able they are to stand up to Trump.
