It really seems like you're stalking the guy or something.
Personally, I didn't find anything particularly wrong with what he said. The cooler sucks on the 290X. AMD could have gone all out and made a grand slam product but the cooler holds it back. Does anyone disagree with this? I sure don't. The hardware is awesome, the performance is outstanding, the price is great. The cooler sucks. So that drags the "total balance" of the product down - some people don't care about that, and I still think the 290X is a great card for the price. And it has brought NV price cuts and a game bundle, which is awesome in it's own respect.
The bottom line is that the cooler on the 290X sucks. I can't disagree with him. You can chill out on stalking the guy now, because I don't think anyone on this forum is interested in it.
And Nvidia charged $100 more for the 780GTX and $450 more for Titan, cards the 290X competes with and is often faster. It beats the 780 at quiet fan speeds while costing less money. Nvidia didn't make a perfect card either... the price performance ratio was pretty lacking, but the cooler was better.
So many posters keep harping on the cooler and making these crazy posts because the heatsink doesn't keep the GPU cool enough to keep the clocks up high enough to beat Titan, which AMD never said they were aiming for.
All this faux outrage about a heatsink on a reference card is kind of funny.
