I don't think ATI will be giving a $500+ card with this game any time soon.

My 5900 Ultra does almost 6500, and that's with nominal tweaking *shrugs* 6750-7k isn't that far off, and I never trust speculation.

I'd recommend you wait on the 9800 pro after the 9900 is released since you'll get it for a lower price.

AWESOME! 3dmark03 is my favourite game of them all!!!

Seriously, if it plays HL2 and Doom3 better than the previous cards (and it will) then I'm happy. But I'm very skeptical of all 3dmark03 scores - it's just not a consistent, reliable gauge of speed like 01 was, and games that we actually play are.

I'm curious about this exciting new VPU cooler they talk about, almost as if it is a cool new feature that end users should be happy about it. Higher clock speeds on the .15 core mean higher temps, and hopefully NOT a FlowFX type solution, althuogh I'm sure that after seeing Nvidia's folley with the 5800 that ATI would try to avoid a noisy solution, they've been good in the past.

Well, a R9700pro can do ~3500points in 3DMark2003 with a P-II 350MHZ...

That whole article explains why 2003 3d marks is more video card dependent. Try doing that with a real game.

I just wanted to say that 3D Marks are not the best way to measure performance. Remember the optimized nVidia drivers.

No need to be such an asshole about it. A stock 9800 Pro typically gets 6k or less, so that is a damned good improvement.
