if R520 and Crossfire will perform below market expectation and if price for this products will be above market expectation than R520 will be the last big chip from ATI
They will be in big big trouble. This time it's for real it's be or not to be for ATI.

ROTFLMAO too funny man, too funny. I remember everyone stating the exact same crap about nVidia when the 9xxx series ATi cards were stomping on 5xxx series nVidia cards. nVidia had all sorts of develpoment delays and failed attempts and even when the 5900's came out they still sucked compaired to ATi 9800 series. Chicken little ran around screaming then about nVidia's premature death and it appears you'd like to poke him in the backside about ATi...

The X800 series is competing with the 6800, not the 7800. Where have you been the last year?

I don't know where you've been the past year. I see the 6800 long replaced by the 7800, and I see the X800 series as the latest from ATi on the market. If ATi releases its r520 at the end of 2005, the G80, due next year, will be the product from nVidia to compete with the r520. I'm sorry, but ATi has been passed up for a generation of hardware. ATi now has to play catch-up.

pwned.

And why should I upgrade to a g80 that might come out in summer 2006, when there might be an even faster r600 coming out in fall 2006? If you were being sarcastic with your first post, it would be understandable, but nobody in their right mind thinks the 7800 was supposed to compete with the x800 or the r520 with the g80. That's like saying the 9700 pwned the gf4 because the gf5 was late, so the gf5 would have to compete with the x800. And, might I remind you, what happened to the gf5? It got pwned by everything

And nVidia was in big sh1t but good products let them survive and regeing market. ATI have still XBOX360 ,Open GL, HDTV and other products but If they screw big time they are in big trouble, they will loose market and investors becouse this fight is for real man.

You do realize that Macci is one of the world's most extreme overclockers, right?

99.999% of the people who will buy ATI's high-end chip in Crossfire will not bother to overclock anywhere like Macci has done. Plus, an overclock this high is not sustainable. The chips run 3DMark05 on a severely stripped down system. This 15K score is a one-shot. Very few will take the chance and OC to such an extent.

Actually it was faithful nvidia FANs like Rollo that stirred people to bad cards. Because they couldn't or wouldn't except the truth kinda like me with intel vs. Amd. Except we wouldn't sell and intel p4e to our customers. ON high end gamer pc's

So whats your point . It didn't matter who did it or how I stated only facts.

You do realize that nvidia would have not had the record if they couldn't use 2 cards don't you .

Now the 7800 does have the record and they deserve it . But its only for a very short time . real short now like 1 more month.

That PC is not only the size of a refridgerator, but the custom cascade cooling system he runs is over $4000. 15,000 in '05 isnt very impressive with this kind of cooling. With the volt mods and overclocking the cards will be lucky to last 2 weeks before they are dead, on top of that, they have to be using beta drivers that are not WHQL certified so who knows if there are optomizations going on.

Furthermore, everything made by futuremark is a joke.

Sorry for beating this dead-horse-of-a-thread one last time.

Futuremark has always favored ATi's cards. Nevermind the fact that ATi was caught tweaking their drivers for "superior performance".

That is all.

LOL LOL LOL and nvidia never got caught optimizing. It couldn't be that Ati has had the superior product for the last 4 years could it.

Wrong. Original GeForces raped Radeons like crazy. That was just unfair. And NV was the first caught tweaking their drivers, only followed by ATI. Plus this is an episode many years ago. IF you want to point that out, at least point out that NV was there to with their hands in the cookie jar.

Nope, The X850 series competes with the 6800 series:

6800 - X850 Pro
6800 GT - X850 XT
6800 GTX - X850 XT PE

7800 GT - R520 XT
7800 GTX - R520 XT PE

And of course the G80, which competes with the R580.

Yay for integrated... well atleast it keeps them floating nicely financially.

Not really, I believe they reported $9 million loss last quarter while nVidia reported record profits?

Sounds like AMD and Intel

Intel:Record Sales
AMD: Q1 Loss
Q2 Pathetic Sales

I don't think Sony will stay on top in the next round, not with Microsoft making such impressive inroads in the industry and going after the Japenese market this time.

Everything you said is speculation. The factis that while Xbox had gotten their sales close to PS2 at the end of last year, PS2 has sold far more units and we can't really predict what will happen with the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Wow Rollo, great way to read my post. Did I ever mention that I had some time machine to see into the future, No. I said my opinion, opinion = speculation. No need to post after me and point that out, because all you've done now is to make it look like I absoulutely believe that with a biased opinion, or that I have some knowledge of the future.

Apparently though you have biased opinion everyone knows you have the most biased opinion here: PRO NIVIDIA all the time, ANTI ATI all the time, <- thats you Rollo. You probaly only go where Nvidia does.

I am not biased, I will get all three next gen consoles, and I currently own all three current gen consoles. I think the PS3 will sell good, its got the brandname, but I don't think it will sell as well as most think. I (wait, let me BOLD this one) think Microsoft will be able to surpass Sony in the next round for the reasons I have previously stated.

And here comes another post from Rollo shouting his propoganda, bias, and ignorance.

Of the two of us, I bet I'm the only one who will own/use both a 7800GTX and a R520. Who's biased again?

Of the two of us, who's the only one who likes to rub it in other peoples faces that they have the money to do so.

I don't have as much money to waste as you, I don't need both cards because I don't have two computers. I am contemplating upgrading and have been quite tempted by Nvidia's offering, although I remain patient to see what ATI can do.

You tell me how I'm biased for just getting one, if I don't need two.

Oh and to answer your question, you are.

I agree, Rollo's full of biased bs. "Of the two of us, I bet I'm the only one who will own/use both a 7800GTX and a R520."

- I bet lots of people buy both, and toss the 7800 in the green garbage bag. No matter how much you argue your always more biased even though theres tens or thousands of review sites that show:

ATI - [==============]
Nvidia - [=======]

And according to you, smaller is bigger than biggest.

Who's biased again?

You.

As for myself, I'm not biased. I just prefer ATi. I've owned both companys' products in the past and I find ATi to be better. Although I accept some Nvidia things outperform ATi products, but when ATi pwns Nvidia, you my friend still whine.

EDIT: Oh yea Rollo, wheres all this "proof" you buy new hardware and test it?

IMO, Rollo's just a green, biased, trolly Shrek calling other people trolls cause they know the truth.

There's my 7800GTX SLI set.

I still have the 6600GTs, the 6800GTs, and the 7800GTXs. Want the serial numbers off the cards? Links to my benchmarks?

Everyone here pretty much knows I do what I say, Keepitred.

Not sure how Ati intends to compete with a 16 pipe card, will take insane clock speeds, which tend to make for noise and low yields. Likely Ati has bought enough time here to get the mid range out and the r580 close to completion. Will be an interesting next couple of months.

I believe they are running a 16x2, not a 16x1, I could be wrong though!

ATI was supposed to release before Nvidia, when the 520 comes out it will compete directly with the G70, the G80 is for the R580!

IMO you're a high school kid I can post links to posts where you have said things so totally off the wall you still don't have much credibility.

As far as me being biased, let's see:
1. Name: KeepItRed - a reference to ATI perhaps?

Yeah, you're the impartial ATer, that is for sure.
