So i'll buy fx6300(not OC) + 8gb ram + r7 260x.
I'm deciding between 720p(1366x768)monitor or 1600x900?

I won't go to 1080p because i want to play at native res(for about 2 years until i upgrade).I've no problems with playing at medium/high settings,no AA.

I'm leaning towards 720p monitor as i don't want to get 1600x900 monitor and then downscale because card isn't powerfull enough to handle that res,and let's be honest non native res sucks. On the other hand,720p feels so..ancient..
Help me

1600x900 should be fine. Super demanding games in the future might need medium, but 1366x768 is a terrible resolution for a PC. Just... no. You'll be able to play every single game currently available at high at 1600x900 with that card.

The R7 260X is basically a rebranded 7790 with more memory (2GB as opposed to 1GB that nearly all 7790's had). And it will be fine for 1600x900.

But, if you can find a 7850, go for that instead. Its a fair amount faster, and you can find them for quite cheap these days.

Ah, that's a good point. Plus, the 7850 is an overclocking beast which will easily handle 1600x900 for 2-3 years. Unless you want the audio, I second this.

Yep, the 260x is a POS that is overpriced.

Grab 7850 while ya can.

2 free games from a decent batch of available games as well.

damn you AMD.

buying a 1366x768 pc monitor in 2013 is beyond silly. so you would rather play games on a tiny little 18 inch screen then turn down some settings on larger monitor? even a 20 inch 1600x900 is damn small. and yes 18 inch and 20 inch 16:9 screens are very physically small. and what on earth are you using now where either of those monitor options could possibly be a step up?

the 260 is rip off anyway when you can get a faster 7850 for hardly any money. a 7850 can play every game out there at 1920x1080 if using common sense with the settings in those demanding games.

Yup, you should forget about that R260x. Spend a bit more, get a 7850 if you need to save money or a 7950 for $200 if you have money, and either get a 1920x1080 (16:9 ratio) or a 1920x1200 (16:10 ratio). It is more expensive but your eyes will thank you.

R9 270X is a good card for sub $200. Would max most games @1600x900 with problems

Problem is that i'm really really on low budget and i can't go more than that(and get hd7850).
Also i want to play at 60fps(starting from BF4) so i would probably get 720p.

Go for the 1600x900. You could always play the game on lower resolution and the increase in resolution would be miles better on other use cases

well the 7850 is faster and has plenty of oc room. and just use some common sense and turn down some settings at 1080. again getting a tiny little low res screen is stupid for gaming.

No, do NOT go 720p. You'll regret it far more than you'll regret saving up a tiny bit more money or having to turn down some settings. 720p is just... Don't do it! BF4 even has resolution scaling so you can lower the effective resolution while still having native res for the HUD. Getting a terrible res like that is not worth it at all.

It is not like 7790/260x is bad overclocker. 1200/1250 (CCC limit) is achieved in almost every review.

You wont get 60fps with the CPU you have chosen. BF4 is FAR more CPU bound than GPU bound. My 7950 runs at around 50-60% utilization because my CPU cannot keep up.

you have to be kidding me? 7850 has about at least 20 to 25 percent headroom where the 260 is nearly maxed out from the get go. Hey 7850 is only about 10 or 15 bucks more so it would be damned foolish to get a 260. I think most reviews even pointed that out.

If you go with 720p you will have more work in cpu than in the gpu, 1920x1080 is future proof (when mid range card levels reaches current high end performance) but 1600x900 is more balanced for midrange pc

again a 7850 can play EVERY game out there at 1080. settings can easily be reduced if 60 fps is the goal but for most games the 7850 will run high or very high. as already mentioned, that cpu is going to limit some games from hitting 60 fps though on even the settings a 7850 can handle at 1080.

Compared to 1080p, going with 900p isn't losing that much. An R7 260x or 7790 would hum along quite nicely at that resolution. Though, like other members here, I'd recommend a 7850 unless you're specifically trying to stick to a specific power limit, price, size, etc.
